Legion Scholarships and Merit Awards were presented to local seniors
The Benton County American Legion Scholarship Awards and the American Legion Auxiliary Merit Award presentation was April 23 in Newhall. Scholarship winners are Owen Krug, Atkins, Jace Biery, Keystone, Rhett Parrott, Belle Plaine, Morgan Schulte, Norway, Grayce McClintock, Shellsburg, and Kennedy Donald, Van Horne.
Merit Award winners were Jace Biery, Owen Krug, Karlee Voss, Shellsburg, Marcus Newton Blairstown, and Leanne Lubbock, Vinton.
Bowing their heads at the start of the Benton County Legion and Auxiliary meeting were Ed Shaeffer, Derrick Seeck and Doug Anderson.Courtney Long, Benton County Veterans Affairs, was at the scholarship and merit awards presentation in Newhall on April 23.Among those honored at the 59th-year Benton County American Legion and Merit Award presentation were, from the left, Karlee Voss, Kennedy Donald, Morgan Schulte, Leanne Lubbock, Marcus Newton and Owen Krug. The event was at the Legion Hall in Vinton on Tuesday, April 23.
