Minutes of Atkins City Council Meeting and Planning and Zoning Commission November 12th, 2019 Atkins, Iowa

Council met in Special Joint Session between Atkins City Council and Atkins Planning and Zoning. Members present by roll call were: Mayor Bruce Visser, Robert Spading, Heather Rinderknecht, Tim Harbach, Rodney Haerther and Joey Svejda. Absent: None. Mayor Bruce Visser called the meeting to order at 6:39 pm. Also, present: Amber Bell City Clerk, Todd Damon Atkins Public Works, Jarrod Tomlinson from Atkins Public Works. Beverly Hayden from Atkins Planning and Zoning, Dan Rammelsberg from Atkins Volunteer Fire Department, Lana Robison and Frank King.

Harbach made a motion to approve the City Council Agenda for November 12th Joint Special Session. Spading seconded to the motion. Ayes: Svejda, Rinderknecht, Spading, Haerther and Harbach. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.

The Council discussed the Atkins Water Distribution System Study from Snyder & Associates. The Study focused on options to increase water pressure within the city. The study also considered ways to enhance Fire Protection throughout the city. Water Main replacements and upgrades were also discussed.

The next Regular Council Meeting date for Monday, November 18th, 2019 at 7:30PM at Atkins City Hall.

Harbach made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Haerther seconded the motion. Ayes: Svejda, Rinderknecht, Spading, Haerther and Harbach. Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
