Luke DeMeulenaere and Jackson Tegeler had 14 points each for Belle Plaine (4-1). Also in double figures was Ben DeMeulenaere with 10. On the boards, Ben DeMeulenaere had a big night with 16 rebounds. Trevin Straight had 5 assists. Lance Van Nevel added 4. Straight also had 2 steals. The team was 19 of 49 in field goals, 6 of 13 for three-pointers with four by Tegeler, 8 of 12 for free throws and had 41 rebounds. Sigourney (4-1) was 15 of 62 for field goals, 4 of 25 for three-pointers and 4 of 8 for free throws. They had 34 rebounds. Mason Harter led with 15.

Alyssa Tegeler led Belle Plaine with 8 points. She had 8 rebounds, as did Jenna Fry. Olivia Bohlen had 5 assists. Fry had 3 steals. Blocking one shot each were Bohlen and Tegeler. The team was 11 of 45 from the field, 1 of 8 for three-pointers and 4 of 15 for free throws. Belle Plaine had 29 rebounds.

Benton Community’s boys’ basketball team (2-3) took two overtimes to get a WaMaC win over Solon (1-2). Turner Schroeder led Benton with 21, including 3 three-pointers. Grant Embretson added 10 points. With 7 rebounds each were Schroeder and Embretson. Brady Sadler had 6 assists. Schroeder had 7 steals. Embretson blocked 4 shots for Benton. The team was 16 of 41 from the field, 7 of 23 for three-pointers and 18 of 35 for three-pointers. They had 35 rebounds.

Benton (3-2) had a fourth-quarter rally for a WaMaC home win over Solon (2-3). Jenna Twedt led Benton with 26 points. Lauren Woeste had 9 rebounds for Benton. Twedt had 3 assists. Woeste had 4 steals. The team was 15 of 36 from the field, 1 of 9 for three-pointers and a big 22 of 31 for free throws. They had 28 rebounds. Solon was 18 of 39 for field goals, 9 of 19 for three-pointers, and 4 of 8 for free throws. They had 25 rebounds, and were led by Makinley Levin with 18 points.
