Please call the Atkins Library at 319-446-7676 early to reserve the City Park Pavilion. Reservations may be made, and payment received up to one year in advance. The Atkins Book Club meets on Monday, March 9 at 2:00pm. This month’s book is “Plain Truth” by Jodi Picoult.
NEW PROGRAM at the Library: “Tuesday Tot Time” begins March 10th thru April 28th from 10:00 to 10:30 at the Atkins Library. A short book will be read with participation by the “tots” and their parent/adult followed by interactive time. Call the Atkins Library at 446-7676 if any

Canvas painting for kids ages 8 to 18 will be on Thursday, March 19, from 10:00 to 12:00. Fee for this class is $15. Registration is required along with payment to make sure enough supplies are available. A sample of the painting is on display at the Library.
Drop-in Craft Day will be Friday, March 20 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Stop in and make and take a craft or 2. See you there! (Reminder: children under 8 must be with an adult or another responsible person.)

- 7th Annual Corn Hole Tournament Sponsored by Atkins SAL. In Memory of Jason and Brandon, Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at the Atkins Legion Hall. Sign up and practice 11:00 – Noon. Tournament 12:00 – Done. $10.00 Per Person – Pays Back 100%. Blind Draw for Teams 12:00pm Bar Open – Food Available – 50/50 Drawing
- Atkins Women’s Club Annual Easter Egg Hunt, April 4th, 2020 at 10am at the Atkins City Park (Atkins Memorial Hall if inclement weather), Ages 0-9 years. Come and visit the Easter Bunny (be sure to bring your cameras). Treats for everyone. Prize egg can be found in each age group. Come join the fun!
- Challenge Your Watermelon Artistic Skills! T-Shirt Design for Watermelon Days. Watermelon Days – July 31-August 1, 2020. Design: Watermelon theme. All drawings must be done on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. You can use up to six colors: You can use markers, colors or colored pencils. You may also do your design on the computer and submit a disc along with a paper copy of the design. A catchy logo also helps! In the design you need to have the date and Atkins Watermelon Days. You need to sign your design and include your phone number. If under age 18, we need to have a parent give permission to use your design if chosen. Ages: All ages! Prize: If your design is chosen, you will receive a free t-shirt and $25! You may choose to have your name on front. Deadline: All designs must be submitted before April 20, 2020 to the Atkins Public Library. Questions: Contact Cathy Becker at the public library. #446-7676.
