CITY OF KEYSTONE COUNCIL PROCEEDING
June 4, 2020
The regular meeting of the Keystone City Council was held Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 6:00 pm. Roll Call members present: K.Janss, Kaiser and Upah; Behrens was in attendance via Zoom Video Conference. Absent: Kruse. Also Present: Via Zoom Video Conference Rodney Kleitsch, Southlaw P.C., Jennifer Zhardnik, City Attorney, Steve Vargason, Keystone Resident, Jamey Clemann, Keystone EMS and Dave Monson, City Superintendent, attended at the City Hall. Mayor, Erin Janss called the meeting to order.
Correction made to the May 2020 minutes: Rodney Kleitsch, Southlaw PC addressed the Mayor and council asking for an extension of 30 days on behalf of his client on the property at 218 Railroad Street. Motion made by Upah, second by Kruse to grant the extension. Motion carried. Aye: Behrens, Janss, Kruse and Upah. Nay: Kaiser.
Motion made by Behrens, second by Upah to approve the May 2020 minutes. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Motion made by Kaiser, second by Janss to approve the May 2020 Treasurer Report. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Motion made by Janss, second by Behrens to approve a building permit for Todd Garretson, 94 3rd Avenue for a 10×20 house expansion. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Motion made by Upah, second by Janss to approve a building permit for Steve Vargason, 95 3rd Avenue to erect a 14×22 garage. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Motion made by Kaiser, second by Janss to approve the replacement of 3 new fire hydrants. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Motion made by Kaiser, second by Upah to approve a bid from Scharnweber to convert the shop lights to LED. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Rodney Kleitsch, Southlaw P.C. discussed with the Mayor and Council requesting another extension for his client on the property at 218 Railroad Street for a significant completion by August 1, 2020. Motion made by Upah, second by Janss to grant the extension. Motion carried. Aye: Behrens, Janss, Upah. Nay: Kaiser.
Motion made by Janss, second by Kaiser to approve the bills as read. Motion carried. All voted aye.
