VINTON – It was routine business for the Benton County Board of Supervisors at their weekly meeting held Tuesday, June 15, at the Benton County Service Center in Vinton.
A land use hearing was held for Tarrell and Rhonda Price for land in Parcel A of Section 25, Bruce Township. They plan to add a structure to their existing residence for family gatherings. The application was approved. The hearing was needed because it is a non-agricultural use and includes the addition of a new home. The original application for the current home was for a single family dwelling in 2006, Land Use Administrator Marc Greenlee explained.
Law enforcement contracts were approved for Garrison and Luzerne.
The board signed an excess flood insurance renewal.
The board acknowledged and approved the early retirement and vacation carryover for Maintenance Director Rick Bramow. He has been with the county for 47 years.
The board acknowledged the assistant county attorney’s pay increase. Supervisor Gary Bierschenk abstained, saying he didn’t have all of the information he needed to make a decision.
Courtney Long from Newhall was appointed to the veterans affairs commission.
Adam Rodenberg of the Watershed Management Authority met with the board.
An audit agreement was approved with Eide Bailly LLP for Fiscal Year 2021.
In engineering action, the board approved an agreement for permanent and temporary easements for box culvert replacement in Benton Township on 59th Street Trail. The board approved a utility permit for Interstate Power & Light in Iowa Township to bore a power line.
