Lady Bobcats get wins at CPU tournament, prepare for WaMaC tourney

Benton Community (21-11) competed in the Center Point-Urbana Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 9, losing to Davenport Assumption (28-3) and Cedar Falls (27-5). They defeated Waterloo West (8-20) and Solon (12-18).

Against Solon, Grace Embretson had 17 assists. BC was 25 of 73 for serves with five errors. Alyssa Tegeler had 17 kills for Benton. With seven digs each were Olivia Janss and Embretson. The team was 37 of 41 for serves with four aces. With two aces each were Emma Townsley and Addison Phillips.

In the Assumption contest, Embretson had 10 assists. The team was 11 of 40 in kills with 11 errors. Tegeler had six kills. Janss had five digs. Embretson had one block. The team was 22 of 24 for serves with two aces, with aces from Townsley and Embretson.

In the win over Waterloo West, Embretson had 16 assists. The team was 29 of 81 in kills with 16 errors. Tegeler had 10 kills. Janss had nine digs. Benton was 48 of 51 in serves with nine aces. Janelle Morris had four aces for Benton. Tegeler added two.

Embretson had 12 assists in the Cedar Falls contest. Benton was 18 of 72 in kills with 11 errors. Tegeler had nine kills. Embretson had 10 digs. Benton was 29 of 32 for serves with no aces. Phillips was 10 of 10.

Benton travels to Center Point-Urbana again on Monday, Oct. 11, for the WaMaC tournament. The tournament continues Thursday, Oct. 14, at Marion.
