Belle Plaine lost to district leader Lynnville-Sully (7-1), Friday, Oct. 15, at home in Class A district football action.
Ben DeMeulenaere passed for 42 yards. He was four our eight and had one interception. The Plainsmen rushed for 163 yards. Connor Timm carried 13 times for 61 yards. Ben DeMeulenaere rushed 17 times for 53 yards and one touchdown. Ty Alcott had 14 carries for 48 yards. Brook DeMeulenaere carried five times for 50 yards. Gavin Ward caught two passes for 19 yards. Ty Alcott caught two for 23 yards.
Lynnville-Sully had 28 yards passing and 239 yards rushing, led by Corder Noun Harder with 133 yards. Chase Wickwire had five total tackles. With two solo tackles were Alcott and Wickwire. Eli Ehlen recovered one fumble. Brooks DeMeulenaere had one interception with a return of 27 yards. Connor Timm returned three kickoffs for 52 yards. Wickwire had two kickoffs for 52 yards. Ben DeMeulenaere had one punt for 45 yards. Alcott had one punt for 17 yards. Brooks DeMeulenaere also had a two-point conversion.
Belle Plaine was second in the district and hosts Earlham (5-3) this Friday, Oct. 22.
Lynnville-Sully placed first in the district and plays Highland (3-5) on Oct. 22. Madrid (3-5) plays at Mount Ayr (6-2).
