Belle Plaine (6-3) ended its season with a first-round loss to Earlham, 28-0, at home in Class A football playoff action.

Ben DeMeulenaere was 1 of 6 in passing for four yards. Ty Alcott caught the pass.

Belle Plaine rushed for 32 yards. Connor Timm had 21 yards. Ben DeMeulenaere added 15. Brooks DeMeulenaere had two carries for -4 yards.

Jeremy Reineke had 8.5 total tackles with five solo tackles. With 7.5 tackles were Eli Ehlen and Chase Wickwire. Alcott had three solo tackles and 6.0 total tackles.

Ben DeMeulenaere had one kickoff return for 12 yards. Brooks DeMeulenaere had one return for 24 yards. Alcott returned one punt for two yards. Chase Wickwire had one kickoff for 13 yards. Ben DeMeulenaere had four punts for 126 yards. Alcott had three punts for three yards.

Earlham passed for 36 yards. They rushed for 339 yards, led by Max Vandever with 183 yards. Darrell Matchem added 106 yards. Earlham (6-3) travels to Grundy Center (8-1) on Friday, Oct. 29.
