City Council Special Meeting
Monday, January 16, 2023 at 4 p.m.

Council Room, City Hall, 480 Third Avenue, Atkins Iowa, 52206
Mayor Bruce Visser called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. Present: Bell,
DeMeulenaere, Petersen, Koehn, and Steffen. Steffen, and Koehn joined at 4:03 p.m.
The Maximum Property Tax Levy document for Fiscal Year Ending 2024 (FYE 24) was reviewed and discussed.
Koehn moved to Authorize Notice of Public Hearing for the Maximum Property Tax Levy FYE 24 to be published as presented. Petersen seconded. Ayes: Koehn and Petersen. Nays: Steffen, DeMeulenaere, and Bell Motion failed.
Discussion occurred.
DeMeulenaere moved to amend hearing notice for the Maximum Property Tax Levy to utilize option one with changes in the other employee benefit line to be $30,900 and liability line to be $51,531. 2nd by Steffen. Ayes: Bell, Koehn, Petersen, Steffen, DeMeulenaere, and Bell. Motion Carried.
Koehn moved to adjourn. Petersen seconded. Ayes: Bell, DeMeulenaere, Koehn, Petersen, and Steffen. Motion carried.
