Jenna Twedt scored 21 for Benton. Adding 15 was McKenna Kramer. Zoey Junge had five rebounds. Emma Townsley had two assists. Kramer had two steals. Willow Bleeker led Sioux Center with 17 points.
Coach Z comments:
The conclusion of a high school season always comes with a lot of emotion. Friday night following the game at Wells Fargo in Des Moines was no exception. Our team finished the season as the Class 3A State Runner-Up and the finality of that brought out a lot of emotion for our girls and coaches. I could not be prouder of all of the girls on our team and the amazing journey and accomplishments from this season. When the sting from Friday night passes, we will look back on this season and have amazing memories and pride. The support of the community through this whole experience was amazing. Before the game I took a moment to look up at the entire side of the arena filled with blue and gold and was awestruck.
The best part about coaching this group is that they are amazing kids. They achieve in the classroom and on the court and have all thrived in their role on our team, making it enjoyable to work with them on a daily basis. Our three seniors, Jenna Twedt, Addison Phillips, and Emma Von Ahsen have left a lasting impact on our program, winning three conference championships, qualifying for state twice, and ending their senior season as the Class 3A Runner-Up. Their leadership was a driving force throughout this season and will be celebrated and missed.
