VINTON – The Benton County Board of Supervisors talked about wellness and approved a memorandum of understanding at their meeting Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the service center in Vinton.
Cecilia Dirks gave an update on the Wellness Committee. She explained how the program can provide money for the participating employees. Money can be earned by getting a physical, mental health training video, wellness survey and getting steps in. This also saves the county money, she said. These will be explained at an upcoming employee meeting.
A memorandum of understanding was approved between Benton County and Area Substance Abuse Council regarding the Safe Opioids Service Program. It was explained by Benton County Attorney Ray Lough.
An update was given on Benton County Conservation projects, including watershed improvement and the conservation budget.
The board will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the auditor’s office in Vinton to approve a Class C Liquor License for the Blairstown Lions Club. This is for Blairstown’s Sauerkraut Days celebration.
