Benton County Auditor Begins Statewide Leadership Role Following Annual Conference in Des Moines

Des Moines, Iowa — August 20, 2026 — Benton County Auditor Hayley Rippel has been sworn in as President of the Iowa State Association of County Auditors (ISACA), taking on a statewide leadership role representing county auditors across Iowa.

Rippel was officially sworn in during the 2026 Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC) Annual Conference, held August 18–21, 2026, in downtown Des Moines.

As president of ISACA, Rippel will help lead the association in representing Iowa’s county auditors and advancing issues important to county government, elections, financial administration, records management and the many responsibilities carried out by auditors across the state.

“I am truly honored and humbled to serve as President of the Iowa State Association of County Auditors,” said Rippel. “County auditors play such an important role in the day-to-day operations of county government, and I am excited for the opportunity to work alongside auditors from across Iowa. I look forward to bringing the voices and experiences of Iowa’s 99 counties together as we continue to strengthen county government and serve our communities.”

Rippel has served as the Benton County Auditor and has been actively involved in the Iowa State Association of County Auditors where she is currently finishing out her term serving as Vice President. Her involvement with the association has provided opportunities to work with fellow county auditors, state officials and legislators on issues affecting counties throughout Iowa.

“Serving Benton County has always been a privilege, and I am grateful for the opportunity to now serve my fellow auditors statewide,” Rippel said. “This position is not only a personal honor, but also an opportunity to represent Benton County and the important work being done by county auditors in communities throughout Iowa.”

The Iowa State Association of County Auditors provides education, professional development and advocacy for county auditors and works to promote effective and efficient county government throughout Iowa.

Rippel will serve a one-year term as President of the Iowa State Association of County Auditors starting January 1, 2027.  Rippel has already begun preparing plans to host the Auditors Summer Conference at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids, June 1-4, 2027.  It has always been a tradition for the Auditor serving in this capacity to try and host such events as this within their own district to showcase their area.
