VINTON – Intersections and lighting were discussed by the Benton County Board of Supervisors at their Tuesday, Nov. 29, meeting in Vinton.

The board approved a Class C Beer Permit for Marty Kimm.

Greg Walston gave an update on Old School Produce. He showed numbers for three years and thanked the board for allowing them to lease space from the county. They are working to step up their production.

A bridge embargo was removed in Benton Township. The bridge has been replaced by a box culvert on 59th Street Trail, near the Linn County line.

The supervisors again talked with Engineer Myron Parizek about lighting at the Van Horne/Blairstown corner. Parizek has talked with the REC about this. Chairman Tracy Seeman has worked to find out who owns the land near the intersection. Parizek didn’t expect the Department of Transportation to do anything until the intersection is completed. They also talked about lighting at other intersections with Highway 30.

There was also discussion on naming of private lanes in developments and how this affects E-911 addressing.
